Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, effective March 16, 2020, in consultation with the Windigo First Nations Council Chiefs, the WFNC Council Chair/CEO has directed our office to close. The WFNC Administrative Office at 160 Alcona Drive in Sioux Lookout will be closed effective March 16, 2020 at 4:30pm.
All WFNC staff have been directed to work from home electronically. WFNC has put measures in place whereby all reception calls to 1-807-737-1585 will be automatically forwarded to the Director of Operations Monday to Friday. All facsimiles received (807-737-3133) will be automatically forwarded to email@example.com
WFNC can assure our leadership and our partners that work for our communities will continue as a priority. All our staff can work remotely during this time.
WFNC is aware that social distancing is imperative to slow down the progress COVID-19. Social distancing is an approach to limiting the spread of an illness in the population by creating physical space between people and reducing the size of large gathering or avoiding them altogether.
For the above reason, WFNC has decided to assist in flattening this curve of the epidemic and have all staff work from home. The Chiefs want to ensure that all staff stay healthy and safe. Further, the Chiefs are aware that COVID-19 is a serious public health threat.
Therefore, please except our apologies for not having the 160 Alcona Drive Windigo Frist Nations Council office open from March 17, 2020 to March 31, 2020.
Further updates will be provided as it relates to the COVID-19 Pandemic WFNC office closure.
